If your child's prescription goes up every year, it can be slowed down. We measure its progression and fit Novar Myofix lenses at both of our stores.
What the evaluation includes
- Measuring the current prescription and comparing it with previous ones, to calculate how fast it really progresses.
- An eye health assessment.
- A review of the habits that matter most: time outdoors, near-work distance and screen time.
With that data we decide which option fits —low-dose atropine, orthokeratology, myopia-control contact lenses or peripheral defocus spectacle lenses— and schedule the follow-ups. It always starts with this evaluation: control lenses aren't right for every case.
Novar Myofix lenses
They are our main option for myopia control. We fit them at either store and mount them at OptiStudio, our own lab, which lets us control the centering their peripheral defocus design requires.
What the evidence says
In the one-year Myofix study —47 children aged 7 to 15, published in Ophthalmology and Therapy— the group with good wearing compliance showed 75% less progression of the prescription and 37% less axial elongation compared with virtual controls.
Myopia usually progresses most between ages 8 and 16, so yearly check-ups at that stage are especially important.
